Family Portrait...(back in the 50s)

Oh, when panick attacks and stress melanda, it's even harder to focus on what I should be doing (writing that is). Instead, duk cari entertainment lain pulak. So as I was browsing another blog, I found another 'distraction' to be obsessed with.

Seriously, it is fun! Check out this application. It's called Yearbook-Yourself. Here, you can visualize yourself until back to the 50s. Bermacam-macam style rambut yang ada. For the ladies, the hairstyles are still acceptable (and make sense!), but for the lads....OMG, undescribably hideous!!! LOL

So, I tried for myself and for each and every one in the family. They look seriously hilarious, but these are one of the best looks for them (imagine the not so good looking styles?), and so they are chosen to be captured as our family portrait.

I was afraid that Ibu will be too sensitive apabila melihat gambar arwah Azwan. But, how could I not put his picture in the FAMILY PORTRAIT kan? Sewaktu pembikinan gambar-gambar ini, terasa sebak yang teramat. Berkali-kali bacaan Al-Fatihah dibacakan untuk arwah Azwan. Genap setahun setengah arwah meninggalkan family. Sempena bulan baik ni, saya ingin mengajak yang muslim untuk menghadiahkan arwah adik, Nik Azwan Shah bin Nik Mokhtar dengan Al-Fatihah. Semoga Allah tempatkan arwah di kalangan orang-orang yang beriman. Aminnn................................

Daddy

Nothing much, dad called me today..mau datang katanya..from S.Africa la pulak...ape saje la travel jauh2. tapi baguslah tu, boley jumpe again! The last time tak smpat nk berjalan! Hampeh. Will plan my work wisely. He asked why I did not send any emails lately. Wahai ayahanda, email yg patik hantar dahulu pun belum ayahanda reply! Hish!

However, wish ibu can come before him! Hehehe (nak juga menang)

The girls ajak nonton 'mama mia' tadi. Tapi just tak smpat...Lame tak catchin up. Both of them will be off to malaysia in 2 weeks time. Harusla chit chat before then! We meet up again later ya

Three in a row

Oh, bosan sungguh di lab hari ini. The plan for today is to do the isolation of Streptomyces lividans with Matthias. Tapi mamat ni tengah duduk minum kopi sambil tgk movie on his laptop pulak. Stress stress..I want to finish early today. Naseb baik he prepared (in the office, not lab) a superb iced coffee for me as well. Tak jadi nak bising-bising. Heh heh

Apart from the boring-ness in the lab, today chat dengan angah. She was in the office, busy katenye, but we chit chat for a almost an hour. Luahan perasaan sikit, and kutuk2 orang. Hehe After chatting with angah, I called along pulak. My intention was to listen to Mikayo's voice, but the little one was very sleepy according to along. Baru lepas mandi la katekan. Along said his head smells like minyak telon. I am sooo jealous!! (I am addicted to kepala baby).

Bile habis borak ngan along, abang plak online. Chit chat lagi. He won first place for the last basketball match. Wah, kat malaysia tak pernah plak menang, kt NZ plak boley menang. Pelik..pelikk..But he broke his leg, believe it or not! At least that was what the doctor told him, because he didnt feel so much pain, and can even walk without the crutches. Siap cabut the plaster lagi tuh! Fuh, gagah betul adikku itu. TOo itchy according to him. Abang kate, what if die mati sebab kegatalan?? Ahahaha...Lawaks!

So harini efisyen dalam meng-catching up with me familia..Yesterday dah borak pnjang ngan ibu..Last week ade call atok. So lengkap hidup ku... ;) Encik Asraf hari-hari, so takyah citer lerr....ngeh ngeh ngeh As for arwah Azwan, tak lepas dari bibir al-fatihah dan doa-doa untuk die... Recapping on old pictures...

Plans

Wah..lame enggak tulis apa-apa...Malas+busy+penat+takde mood...Anywayy...Banyak betul future plans that I have in mind..Banyak as in, seriusly confusing! Apekah faktor-faktor yang harus I consider in making a decision? For myself or should I consider others as well?

One thing for certain is, I can't get everything I want. Maybe I can, but not all at the same time.....Ya ampun, harap ada signs from God, which lifestyle I should go for!

Di sebalik nama mikayo

Oh, hari ini kurang sehat. Dari yesterday kat lab dah rasa macam nak demam. Mr. Math pun kate

Mr. Math : this is the first time I see you not singing in the lab
Jehan : yeker (yes, I automatically answered in BM yer..reflex) LOL
Jehan : erm..I mean, really? Hey, I do NOT sing all the time.
Mr. Math : Yes..yes..okayy..you look tired today
Jehan : Because I do feel a bit tired. I feel I'm going to be sick!

Betul lah pulak, so harini bangun je pagi sakit kepala. I cant imagine myself cycling all the way to the lab. Plus, luckily I have done some experiments in advance yesterday. Target harini writing2 je..I guess no harm done if I just stayed in my room. Now feeling better, tapi cam tak kuasa nk bekerja. Called Asraf, he's sick too..Kesiann.. Cewah..susah senang bersama la kunun ;)

Called ibu, she's in a meeting. So called along, borak2 best giler. She updated me about mikayo and her mummy-life. Challenging, exhausting but loving every minute of it. Mikayo seems to be a very active boy! Kuat menangis plak tu (dont all babies??) From what she said, I have the impression that this lil' newcomer brings the whole family closer. Everybody loves to come to check on him and my sis and ibu. Bagus kann ;) Before we ended the conversation, I asked along to kiss mikayo for me..ngehee...

Anyway...

mikayo's real name is Maher Mikail Oh. The "oh" is derived from the daddy's surname "Muhammad Ariff Oh bin Abdullah". When my sister was pregnant (by this time, we already knew the baby is a boy), along had this dream where auntie J, that's me! asked the baby;

Auntie J : What is your name..?
Mikayo : My name is muhamad mikayo!!
*in a super-cute voice!

He tried to say "muhamad mikail oh", but he said it too fast and pelat-like so it sounded like mikayo! Is he cute or cute?? Ahaks! Since then, I keep refering the baby in along's tummy as mikayo sampaila sekarang...chomel..chomell..

Orang kata its better to call a name that has good meanings. So this name wont stay for long I guess. But I like it! Maher / Mahir, (not sure of the spelling) is given by his nenek. She met this lovely ustaz during hajj, who has a lovely voice (good looking tak?) She instantly fell in love, with the name, of course! (hehe) and named the baby maher/mahir, with hope that he'll grow up into a fine man. InsyaAllah *if God permits*

Enuff said...had my break!

Terlepas lagi..

Last week ada majlis akikah at my house, for the so adorable nephew of mine..

Alhamdulillah it went well.. Mikayo chomel sgt...Stress je terlepas such occasion. Ok, not so important, but I just wish I can be at home at times like this. In fact I wish I am at home at all times. Hehe Too demanding, isn't it?

I'm sure the whole extended family was there. Aunties surely busy with the cooking and uncles setting up the khemah, carpet, lighting or whatever needed to be done. I enjoy the hassle of preparing for a majlis. I like the chaos created by kids, people dressing up, cousins sharing makeups and discussing bout their tudungs or hairdos (hehe ikut akakkk die ni), and the best part is after the floor has been carpeted with the large red carpet, furnitures re-organized, and all sections are fully decorated. Its like a whole new look. Chantekk. Mum also loves to buy fresh flowers for special occasion. Well, we do have bunga tipu for the whole year kan! ;) Enggak sabar mau balik...

Oh yes, last sunday night ada kungfu hustle kat tv. Wah gelak sorang2..LOL Made me miss home even more. Selalu gelak2 ngan ibu or along or abang or arwah Wan. Bab2 tengok citer2 budus begini mmg inilah orang2 nya. Sory ngah, ko slalu tidur halfway of ANY movies! Ahaks Miss u people!

Sunday Sun and Mikayo

Oh, harini sangat cantik...cuaca cerah, terang benderang, cahaya matahari best! Bangun je nampak angah letak gmbar mikayo yang latest...Oh, comelnyer anak saudara ku ini...Mata macam anak cina! *memang anak cina pun*

Tak sabar nak balik....by the time I sampai Malaysia (November most probably), Mikayo dah more than 6 months! Wah..besar sudaaa....

Okayy...I wish..Happy Father's Day to Ayah....hm... ;)

Nak keluar to city and pergi Boots. Harini ada last sale for father's day...MUST grab some stuffs..

Ketinggalan...!

Hm..got a very gud news today that another friend of mine will be engaged very soon (cant mention her name, I am supposed to be surprised when she breaks the news to me next week)

Before this, two of my closest frens dah pun announced their majlis pertunangan. Miss Winie's engagemnet wil be end of May..This event adalah antara salah satu majlis yg sangat terkilan untuk ketinggalan.. =( Sorry win, jehan belikan prezen je lah k (end of year that is)..Another person is Miss Alia, my best fren in Pusat Asasi Sains, who will be engaged to Mr. Eppy end of July and insyaAllah will tie the knot end of dis year..Yay..that means, I'll b able to attend ur big day then..

I am so happy for the three of you..but partly sedih tak dapat attend ur engagements...I Lurrve the planning and brainstorming on the what-to-wear or what gifts to buy part..Inilah die, d disadvantage of studying abroad, u'll miss ur frens' engagemnets, even worse their weddings, cant be in d hospital when ur first nephew was born, the kenduri akikah and many2 more! However, the only scariest thing that I always pray not to happen, is to lose one of my family members while I'm away..(don't want to even think about it)...God Bless them..

Anyway..today balik lab lewat giler..around 9.10pm..

hah! sape suruh datang lab lambat! (9.50 am)..huhu so almost 12 hours in the lab..serve me rite! Was quite content wif today's achievement though..cewah! tapi meraba-raba dalam kegelapan bila nak balik tadi. Apparently, cambridge keeps its electricity utilization as minimum as possible! Dahlah i ni rabun! Huhu See..muke penat!

Ok..dats it for now..better hit d sack..I am so sleepy...It's been a long day..so will tomorrow..Nite ppl!
