The Award goes to.....

Yay..harini dapat award from a good friend of me a.k.a Makcik Ejannz who is currently in Dublin. She's doing medic in RCSI which is known to be as the "rich" medicine school in Dublin. I dont have any statistics to prove this, but the TWO AWESOME LAPTOPS WHICH ARE FROM APPLE AND HP that the college provides (and get to keep) simply explains everything. Urrgh..I envy you makcik! Kenapa menyimpang cerita ni? Anyway, the only important point here is, SHE'S SINGLE! Need I say more? Muahaha haha...

Oh sorry macik, for not elaborating earlier on how you came into the picture of the 'ASASI geng'. Hehe I can't really remember how we first met, all I know is you were a girlfriend to R**** who was also a childhood friend of Farah. And then we ended up in the same group, but not in the same class. Fizik lab, kita buat sama-same juge....Not long after that you left to Kolej Mara Banting (KMB), where you get to know Asraf too. You visited us in UM once, and I also paid you a visit in KMB once. Gigih ok nak jumpa u and Zy...I kene naik bus jauh giler tau! hehe..

A day with Cupcakekasih

First thing's first. I did NOT realize that "MISS J..IN HER OWN WORDS" has officially operated for a full ONE Year!!! Yeeha! Happy Birthday bloggy, or whatever I call it. Hmm..should give it a nick name. Anyway....How time flies...ONE YEAR? I can't really remember what actually triggered me to start blogging (again) after the old blog in Friendster had long been forgotten. Whatever it was, I am sure grateful that I actually did it. I started this blog on the 11th of May 2008 when I was still in Cambridge, all alone in the room, searching for some sort of 'entertainment' or a medium to express my thought. As much as I love to jot them down, there are plenty..plenty..plenty of entries I had been meaning to post, but somehow they were...again forgotten! (and I was too occupied at times)!

Anyway.....back to 2009...

Did I mention that I have a new addiction? It is a little cute-creamy-sugary-thing happened to be known as cupcakes! I was aware that cupcakes are the in thing nowadays, but only after unintentionally arrived at this blog (because of its captivating name), I instantly fell in lurrve with them...Dengarkan saja nama blog ini, cupcakekasih...don't you want to have a peek at its contents? Well, I did. And FYI, kasih is the name of the owner's daughter. Another addition to beautiful (and uncommon) names like cinta and jelita. I loike! ;)

So..after skimming through the blog, I found out that Kak Jun (the blog owner) offered cupcake decorating classes for beginners! It was an impulsive decision to join the class but it felt right, because I didn't have any reasons not to! So, I wrote an email to Kak Jun to enquire about the class right away.

Kami berbalas email, and last week, I finally reached USJ 4 for my first cupcake class. Needless to say, I was super-excited! :D

I arrived there around 10.10 in the morning. Because the routes in USJ are alien to me, I got lost twice! Well, no surprise there! Hehe Anyway, the other girls arrived 20 minutes later I think, so I had the chance to chit chat with Kak Jun. She had a lively personality so everything felt at ease. Having a background as a journalist/editor of the famous Malaysian magazine, JELITA for 15 years, I am sure she has mastered the art of conversation and making guests feeling comfortable.

Around 11am, we took our place at the round table and started with introduction on buttercream. No need for me to explain in detail here, experience it for yourself when you join her class.

This is Farhy, a wartawan penyiaran from Gombak.

This is Iza, a landscape architect lecturer. No wonder all her decorations looked so kemas and uncluttered (like mine!), she is used to working with miniatures!

And this is Kak Jun's breath taking kolam ikan koi.
* Kak Jun, minta permission amil gambar ini ye*

This is Miss J, working with her fondants. Too engaged in her so-called art work.
Haku imagine lain, lain pulak end product nyer! YELLP!

**********************
More or less SIX hours later, this is the result.

IN CASE YOU'RE WONDERING WHAT THEY ARE....
Cute baby shoes, pink roses, teddy bear with love heart, flower bouquet and the letter A encircled with purple rosettes.

Channel handbags and clutch (channel?? haha), matching blue platforms (or terompah), flowers again, mushroom in the garden, and more rosettes.

PLEEEAASSEE say they look like what they are supposed to be. Kalau mushroom tu nampak macam payung and teddy bear nampak macam penguin, sah haku fail! Haha
But, for first-timer OKlah kan??? Sculpturing with fondants require a skillfull hand and patience. Three of us were trying our best to make our decorations look right, while Kak Jun made it looked so effortless, of course! Tension je. Susah jugak wey....but fun to do ;)

In the end, we snapped a photo with our 'art-work' and the teacher, Kak Jun (last right)

After 5, we had tea together and then I rushed back with 10 decorated cupcakes in hand. Sangatlah excited to show to my family. ;o) I am really glad I attended the class, because few days before that, siap termimpi-mimpi pasal cupcakes. Now, sudah tidur lena.............. LOL

Wonder how well your sculpturing talent? Try fondant! Hehe

I am so indulged with this cute little thing right now, so back off! Let me explore the creative side of me, even if it'd take ages to create a masterpiece. Hehe

Back to the phrase that I always hold on to, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams". Even if it is a simple thing as cupcakes, you have to belieeeeeevvve..... LOL

Have fun people!

*Kak Jun made an entry in her blog on our decorating class, check this page to learn more about it.....

CRAP!

Hmmmm...

Received a letter just a while ago...

Recognised the logo on the top-right of the envelope...

Heart beats at a faster pace...

Do not dare to think of any dreadful news nor the delightful ones..

Maintain composure...

Read the lines slowly...

So far, so good...

Ok...

Ok...

At the last paragraph...

Owh CRAP!

I snapped

When best friends meet

Meet my two best friends in Asasi, UM...

SEVEN years ago, God brought us together in a place called Pusat Asasi Sains Universiti Malaya (PASUM). All three of us stayed in different rooms, floor and block in the hostel but for some (good) reason, we were placed in the same group. If I remember correctly, it was Group R3. It was during the first tutorial class when we first met.

I can still remember the first few words uttered by Farah. They sounded more or less like this, “Hi, tempat ni kosong tak?” while pointing to an unoccupied seat beside me. I said takde, and so she settled down beside me. We had to wait for the first tutor to arrive, so without feeling awkward we exchanged names and started to break the ice…

You know the feeling when you came into a room full with unfamiliar faces. The first thing to do was to get to know each other. Most likely, you will get along with the first person you talk to, true? If he/she happened to be a pleasant one to be with, that person would be your next best friend.

THAT’s exactly the case for me and Farah…

At that time, Alia has already found her "table-mate". I dont know what happen to that girl, but somehow after a while we tend to stick together. We walked to lecture theathre and tutorial together, had lunch and dinner most of the time, as I said TOGETHER.

I have always thought that perhaps NOT many people liked us very much then (for some reasons), but the truth came out today when Alia revealed a friend's confession that we were actually known as the "geng jahat" in ASASI. Hahhh??!! I really dont know how many people thought of us that way. Some, yes, but not many I guess. Mungkin cuma gadis-gadis yang envy us for being such playful and attractive (muahaha) girls. Alia and Farah pulak thought that we were popular. Hah?? Babes, popular for the wrong reasons?? Haihh... Again, I am not sure. If only I could make all ex-ASASIan to commit to a survey on their perception of us! Then only I would know...Because, kami tak jahat lar...cuma nakal jer...Hehe

What was the worst thing we did anyway?

Attend lectures lambat! Lambat as in at the same time the lecturers came in or later... : YES

Attent class tutorials lambat! Lambat as in at the same time the tutors came in or later... : YES

Geng duduk last row in lecture hall and tutorial class : YES

Tak salin nota, instead makan keropok or scribbling dalam lecture hall : YES

Tak siap tutorial questions so we had to borrow our friends' completed sheets : YES
*Owh this part, we were laughing out loud while recapping this part of our "bad habit". Tebalnya muka aku time tu untuk pinjam tutorial orang. WHAT WAS I THINKING??*

Dinner with our big group (which consisted of mostly guys!) in "Cafe Luar" Kolej-11 sampai jam 10-11pm : YES
*They are good friends anyway, but sort of a bad influence jgkla. Haha*

That was the reason we did not complete our tutorial assigments? : again..YES

So....I think that's not too bad. You think? Perhaps they jumped into some nasty conclusions after observing our so relax and tak kesah attitude. TETTT! Wrong answer.

Kami budak baik..... ;P

OK, so we all admitted that we regret our actions for not being more serious in studies and lack of focus during ASASI year (although it was one hell of a FUN year...like seriously!) But one good thing about us (cewahh) we did not, i repeat, DID NOT waste the next few years of our lives. All three struggled our way to the top in what we were doing. Bukan riak, cuma kata2 ingatan...

Alhamdulillah..kami sekarang sudah menjadi "orang", bak kata Alia. Farah was the best student for her batch (in IT), Alia has succesfully made her way to completing a masters degree in UPM with a patent (the fruit peeler) and won an award for that too, and I am grateful to be at a place where I have never imagined going for masters. All in all, we did learned our lessons...and we learnt it the hard way. I guess that's the one thing the three of us have in common.

So, that was just the intro of the entry....

Today's reunion was about celebrating. Celebrating Mrs. Alia's coming birthday. We had our lunch at Chilis in Midvalley at around 11am. Our initial plan to watch movie was cancelled because there was too much catching up to be done. 7 years of stories...So as I have imagined, the restaurant haru-biru every now and then because of our loud (and disturbing) laughter.

Alia and her most expensive rib-eye steak. Pastu tak habis! Grr..mentang2lah kami belanja

Alia and her surprise birthday cake! Alia responded only a few seconds later after she finally realized the singing was meant for her! Huhu Minah blur

Making wishes and blowing the candle

With the birthday girl

Me and Alia

I think we spent nearly 3 and half hours in chilis chatting. We decided we had had enough. But in fact we headed to New Zealand (ice cream cafe) and sat there for another 2 hours. By the end of the day, jaw masing2 dah cramp! Hehe

The large cup filled with 3 yummylicious scoops of different ice cream flavour.
By the time we couldn't stuff anymore carbs and sugar into our stomaches, we decided to call it a day. Besides, I had to run off to Banting for a kenduri, Alia had to spend time with hubby as well and Farah had to rush back.
So..the whole day well spent. With a great and lovely company, indeed.

I guess, we were celebrating our hopefully eternal friendship as well. ;)
Goodnight and have a restful Sunday
XOXO

Have you ever . . .

Have you ever....

laughed out loud till you cry?

Have you ever...

cheated on someone you love?

Have you ever...

wished that you are someone else, even if your friends always say that they wished to be in your shoes?

Have you ever...

hated someone for no apparent reason? The truth is you just envy him/her for whatever he/she has that you don't?

Have you ever...

swore yourself to a commitment but deep inside you know you have doubts..?

Have you ever...

envied another girl because you think she is prettier?

Have you ever...

Told someone that you will wait for him/her for the rest of your life?

Have you ever...

regretted your actions for not being brave enough to...say what you think, do what you want and love who you love?

Have you ever...

thought you are better than most people and thus bad things shouldn't happen to you?

Have you ever...

thought you are so good, you have the power to pick who you want to be with?

Have you ever...

doubted God's plan?

Have you ever...

wished you look differently?

Have you ever...

anticipated to talk to a person but you know he/she never will?

Have you ever...

experienced a moment where you should follow your heart not your head?

Have you ever...

felt so lost, exhausted and confused, you finally stopped deliberating because at that time you realized there's nothing you can do but to serahkan segalanya kepada Dia...??

NONE

It was quite a productive day...

After a week break, we finally resume our lesson. To begin with, I was away for 3 days on a trip to Surabaya with Atok and Abang (my younger brother). The trip was so-so...not very exciting, I would say. Makanya, enggak ada mood untuk update about it. Anyway, after returning from Surabaya, I was unwell. Poor kids, no class for the whole week! I have to admit that I did miss them. So today, mood Miss J sangatlah baik, although tantrum strikes towards the end of class. Heh

Around 7pm, Winnie came to fetch me and off we go to Alam Sentral, Shah Alam to go sponge-hunting. Hah, the bride-to-be is experiencing the final phase of wedding preparations - NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, ANXIETY and PANICK ATTACKS. The wedding is only 3 weeks away and as expected things start to get out of hand. But I think, she did quite alrite with only the little things like wedding favours to be sorted out. So..hang in there Winnie...I'm sure everything will be just fine. We had a good time chatting about the past, the future and going through the itinery for majlis akad nikah and reception. Can't wait! And I've got a purple dress to compliment the ceremony. Chewah...."compliment the ceremony"? What the fish?? LOL

So, overall today was quite fun. Only one sad news in the morning... My friend's mother passed away at 3.40 am in Ipoh after being diagnosed with cancer. This was one hell of a shocking news. We chatted over the phone just few days ago. One thing that she did mentioned was about the condition of her mother - just OK! Tiba2 this morning berita sedih ni pulak. I truly feel sorry for her. Sabar ye intan...We all doakan agar ibu intan ditempatkan di kalangan orang yang beriman..Al-Fatihah

That's all for now. Have a good nite sleep, people. I hope I'll have mine!
