Free copy of SCIENCE magazine, anyone?

Since May this year, I have been receiving free digital version of SCIENCE magazine on every fortnight. It is the world's leading journal of original scientific research, global news, and commentary. For a year, I am entitled for free subscription of this magazine. I hardly khatam the whole magazine (as I should) everytime I received it. Inside, there are loads of latest/updated info regarding science advancement. Kalau u tengok, puding di bawah, nampak macam sedapp je kan...Rupa cantek, rasa pun sedap (ngehehe)

Tapi kalau dibandingkan antara puding kanan dan kiri, naturally orang akan makan yang kanan dahulu. Puding kiri : you ni cantek lah
puding kanan : ha'ah (riak!), thanks!

Walaupun rupa berbeza, rasa kedua-duanya sangat lazat (iye ker?). Sebabnya, mereka datang dari adunan yang sama, dibakar pada suhu dan untuk tempoh yang sama. Cuma dengan keinginan Tuhan, mereka berbeza dari segi rupa...

Ada sedikit kekechiwaan di sini...Tetapi tidak mengapa.."Rupa itu tidak penting", kata Encik Asraf. Agreed. Samalah dengan manusia, walaupun tidak jelita ataupun kacak, hati yang baik dan personaliti yang paling penting...Take note!

* Have nothing agains South African too, so far all my S.African friends are....well, black! ;) missing the point here, they are super nice too!

Rabun!

Lasnite tertdo awal..yes, as early as 7pm! Terjaga dalam kul 2.30am, with a jacket on. Patutla panas! Ceh..tp tido lena. Hikhik

So, I thought I have slept enough and figured that perhaps I should wake up and do something (like Isyak!!) Normally, my right hand will meraba-raba on the right side of the bed to find my spectacles. But this time, it's NOT THERE. So, the left hand did the same on the left side of the bed now. again, NOT THERE!! Panicking, I rose from the bed and searched for my spectacles high and low. Angkat semua (I have three) duvets and search under the bed, still not seen anywhere. Dah la susah nak cari since rabun kan, I can only guess what I'm looking at. Kalau ada spider depan mata pun I tak pedulik kot. hehe After a while, I gave up. Penat dah. Dengan kechiwa nya, I went to the bathroom and put on my lense. Apakah pukul 3 pagi pakai lense. Grrrr....

Ok, now, have to start searching again. But where else to seek?

Oh Crap!

Ape la time2 camni internet buat hal....I have (unintentionally) exceeded the data transfer limit in my college. In short, my internet sudah kene block, except for cambridge account and yahoo messenger. Weird, kenape pulak YM boley access?? I'm in no position to object on this, I'll make use of whatever I have. YM pun YM lah...Thank God, this does not happen while I was writing up moi thesis. Hm..would be tragic...

nampak tak tu...more than 10GB already...grrr!

So, am writing from the computer room in my college to continue doing my presentation. Chat with abang, guess what he was doing. Filming his own home made video to send to me. Just the right timing. Kununyer, he just learned this song half an hour before we met online. So, excuse the ke-kantoi-an of the strumming. ;)

Raya Preparations?

Contradictory to the preparations in Malaysia (obviously!), my preparation for raya this year was NOTHING close to :

* a visit to SACC in shah alam to buy kain baju kurung
* jumpa aunty Mei-Hua, the all time favret tailor
* testing kuih raya
* sending kad raya
* kemas-kemas umah
* tukar langsir (forced to!)
* beli gifts for atok and nenek
* and what else...i cant remember!

Instead, I was stuck in my college to finish my dissertation..struggling with piles of journals..until the Big Day itself! Grrr....Ok, boring part! I am not keen on elaborating on my thesis. Let's get back to the raya mode.

So, some of the things I manage to do before raya comes...

(1) Send postcards to abang in NZ, and atok in Klang (using cambridge postcards that I bought since last year!)

(2) Send this raya basket to familia in Shah Alam, and one to Fac. Biotech UNISEL. According to ibu, it did not look so impressive - the filling and decorations I mean. I guess, tak semeriah gambar di bawah ni. How would I know, I ordered everything online! Rugi duit makcik..But then again, the thought that counts. Sampai on time at Along's house, but in UNISEL, taktau sape yang receive it! Thanks to Kak Suw kerana keluarkan the hamper during Biotech's open house. Tak cukup untuk semua orang la tapi ;)

(3) Send Asraf his Raya gift..in the form of flower bouquet! Tantekk...Tapi sampai sana 3rd Raya...I thought it would be nice for him to decorate his house anytime he's having guest during raya open house or whatever. Until now, he's been feeding the flowers with panadols and vitamin Cs..Gilos..overdose bunga-bunga itu...haha

Salam Perantauan...in the making....

Approximately one week before raya, we planned for a photography session in front of King's College. What's the motive for this? To send to Salam Perantauan lah...hehe

So we gathered around 12.45pm in our colourful baju kurungs. The plan was to snap pictures with the jacket on, barulah nampak mcm kat oversea kan. Apart from the durable wind and constant rain the previous days, this particular afternoon turned out to be a sunny one! Maka terpaksalah kami membuka jaket dan menggayakan baju kurung kami itu di depan khalayak ramai. A few stopped before us, wondering, "apelah minah-minah ni buat. must be one of those muslim discoveries". Hikhik. I tell you, blink-blink kami hari tu..Of course caught people's attention. ;)

The next week, this picture came out in Kosmo online! Wuhuu...Ingatkan tak cukup glamer untuk dipilih keluar paper, coz there were too many people sending in thier pictures, only some can be chosen for the paper version. To our surprise, ada okk keluar di paper Kosmo!!

Jangan tak tauuuu.....Muahaha

Berbuka puasa....Part 3 : Sex and The City

Whoops..tajuk entry kurang sesuai untuk bulan Ramadhan...but dont take it word for word. It is merely an expression to represent the theme of the night; the fashionable and glamourous girls in the film SATC. This night was K. Zetty's treat and the SATC theme was her idea. So, the girls (yang selalu kebosanan and looking for something exciting to do) was up for it. The idea was to dress up a lil bit fancier than normal. That's easy job since we wear anything but fancy to the lab everyday! To give you even clearer picture of our daily life here - WE CYCLE! Muahaha..how glamourous is that?!!

For those who doesn't follow the movie, I don't fancy the movie so much myself, but the girls outfits are simply gorgeous (well, too much sometimes). From accessories to handbags...grrr....makes you wanna shop! Hehe

Btw, this was sempena after her (K. Zetty) viva and as a get together before she commits herself to hubby. (She's already married at that time, cuma Mr. Hubby tak sampai UK lagi) So, many thanks to K. Zetty and I congratulate you upon entering second year of PhD, also for your wedding! (bila la nak tengok gambar wedding nie, babe?)

To say I was very busy would be a very lame excuse! But yes indeed, I was extremely occupied! To begin with, let's hope my thesis has no major problemo! Enuff said! Tawakal aja from now onwards...In addition to that, I was in no mood to blog nor to reply any messages. Sorry for the late replies and wishes. Ngehehe

Oh, sebak, happy and a mixture of feelings to hear all the raya songs! Akhirnya, jumpa pun lagu-lagu original Raya - Saloma's and Fazidah Joned's...Best....satu hari kt bilik pasang lagu-lagu ni. Kuat-kuat lagi! Hehe Barula terasa suasana raya....

Btw, I still raya on Wednesday instead of Tuesday!
