Salam Perantauan...in the making....

Approximately one week before raya, we planned for a photography session in front of King's College. What's the motive for this? To send to Salam Perantauan lah...hehe

So we gathered around 12.45pm in our colourful baju kurungs. The plan was to snap pictures with the jacket on, barulah nampak mcm kat oversea kan. Apart from the durable wind and constant rain the previous days, this particular afternoon turned out to be a sunny one! Maka terpaksalah kami membuka jaket dan menggayakan baju kurung kami itu di depan khalayak ramai. A few stopped before us, wondering, "apelah minah-minah ni buat. must be one of those muslim discoveries". Hikhik. I tell you, blink-blink kami hari tu..Of course caught people's attention. ;)

The next week, this picture came out in Kosmo online! Wuhuu...Ingatkan tak cukup glamer untuk dipilih keluar paper, coz there were too many people sending in thier pictures, only some can be chosen for the paper version. To our surprise, ada okk keluar di paper Kosmo!!

Berbuka puasa....Part 3 : Sex and The City

Whoops..tajuk entry kurang sesuai untuk bulan Ramadhan...but dont take it word for word. It is merely an expression to represent the theme of the night; the fashionable and glamourous girls in the film SATC. This night was K. Zetty's treat and the SATC theme was her idea. So, the girls (yang selalu kebosanan and looking for something exciting to do) was up for it. The idea was to dress up a lil bit fancier than normal. That's easy job since we wear anything but fancy to the lab everyday! To give you even clearer picture of our daily life here - WE CYCLE! Muahaha..how glamourous is that?!!

For those who doesn't follow the movie, I don't fancy the movie so much myself, but the girls outfits are simply gorgeous (well, too much sometimes). From accessories to handbags...grrr....makes you wanna shop! Hehe

Btw, this was sempena after her (K. Zetty) viva and as a get together before she commits herself to hubby. (She's already married at that time, cuma Mr. Hubby tak sampai UK lagi) So, many thanks to K. Zetty and I congratulate you upon entering second year of PhD, also for your wedding! (bila la nak tengok gambar wedding nie, babe?)

Berbuka puasa...Part 2 : Eating out

Okay..so apart from being alone and breaking fast in the college, there are times where the girls get together and masak2. The first time we berbuka bersama was on the day Kak Ina and Kak Zetty arrived from Malaysia. So Kak Lin cooked. Oh terlupa, I did an entry about this. Anyway, no pictures taken then.

This was taken on the second time kami berbuka bersama, same venue, different menu. Oh, Kak Lin masak (again!) hehe. Main menu was mee bandung ;)

Several times I berbuka at K. Ina's place...atas invitation of course. Her place is very strategic, memang laluan antarabangsa! Hehe Well let say from the lab, I have to pass Newnham college first before reaching Wolfson College (my place). So dalam 5 minutes ride. Thanks kak ina. Jasamu dikenang ;)

And last week, I was craving for seafood briyani at the Indian restaurant not far from my place. My goodness..the prawns and squids inside were marvellous. They have this buttery taste and to eat it with the veggie+yogurt and hot briyani rice, memang besssttt....The price has gone up a little bit I think. Spent 10pounds for this. But totally worth it ;) Both of us berbuka with tuna sandwich first, pray, then leave for the restaurant. Oh, sekarang terasa mcm nak pegi lagi jerr?? Hm....

Farewell dinner

Owkayy..this took place last friday..to be exact last-last friday! Hehe Lambat sunggoh jehan meng-update. Now baru ada mood...

So, as you all know, my fellow UNISEL colleagues/former lecturers were in england for a month. They had trainings in different departments in cambridge as well as in Oxford and Imperial College. Unfortunately, this was not a very good timing for me to have visistors as I was very occupied with labwork. All I managed to do was to visit them once in a while. Kalau mau ikut berjalan2 tu sedikit sukar untuk dilakukan. Walau bagaimanapun, tour into King's College and punting is a must activity if you visit cambridge, and we managed to do exactly that!

OK, dipendekkan cerita, on the last day they were in cambridge, Pn. Azah and Pn. Yanty invited me and Kak Ina to their place to have dinner. Mau menghabiskan stok makanan. They also gave us stok makanan yang tak dapat dihabiskan. Memang banyak lah, siap kene balik naik taxi lagi! Hehe Apepun, thanks ye. Harap anda semua have a good experience in cambridge. Any kesulitan harap dimaafkan. See you in a few months time! ;)

Bachelorette party

Owkayy..

Where should I start? I shall begin with what happened last thursday...So the next few posts will be a recap from then until today..Promised my frens to put these entries, and ONLY tonight I have the time to actually sit in front of the laptop and taking my own sweet time...

So here goes..

Last thursday, as mentioned before, we have arranged a bachelorette party for K. Zetty. The plan was as follows;

* punting

* candelight dinner on the punt

* meet up at 7pm

* girls have to put on their skirts (special occasion only)

* tiger show (men of course) afterwards - OK, this bit was only K. Zetty's unfulfilled fantasy

So yup, we managed to meet up on time at K.Ina's place and then headed to the river near Sala Thong, the restaurant where we intend to order the food from. Clearly all three of us (d girls) were very excited about this. We put on our skirts as agreed and both K.Ina n K.Zetty looked at their best. As for me, I was not at my best as I came straight from the lab. Urghh! There was only one guy that night - Tee, who did not dressed up at all. I'm sure he thought this was going to be a plain same ol night where we get together and have dinner. Aha! For us, we wanted it to be all grand, fancy and romantic. Typical girls...... ;)

Unfortunately.....we were too late and apparently after 7pm, they have a different charge for hiring the punt - exclusive candlelight dinner they call it! Damn right exclusive, as they wanted us to pay 60quids per boat for 1 hour, EXCLUDING meals...Alright, we considered about it walaupun mahal. However, setakat punt 1 hour we wouldn't mind, but to finish our meal in such a rush? i don't think so.......We had imagined to have a long chat while enjoying the delicous thai dishes. So, feeling a lil upset, we had to pass.

Akhirnya kami makan juga di Sala Thong, food was delicous and the company was just lovely. The restaurant was a little bit loud that night, though. For desert, we went to Bella Italia to dip our forks into their deserts..Nyum nyum...

Hmm..macam di thailand pulak ;)

Ladies, as agreed I only uploaded the pictures that melepasi piawaian blog ini. And to Kak Zetty, hope you have a great time that night, walaupun candlelight dinner tak jadik ;D

Proper meal

Oh, hari ini sunnguh blessed! Bestt sgt..sebab tengah hari makan nasi dengan kari ayam and telur goreng. Kari aiyyam dimasak oleh Kak Zetty, and nasik prepared by Kak Ina. mekasih la korang...semoaga dimurahkn rejeki Kami makan bersama atas jemputan k.Zetty..nak mghabiskan stok di dapur katanya, sebelum pulang ke malaysia. Antara topik perbualan...as usual lah, luahan perasaan ku tentang my project, supervisor dan seangkatan dengannya korang mmg sabar mndengar cite-cite bosan ini. Esok tak sabar nk pi punting pulak. Sambil tu dinner di atas bot. Ini pulak sempena K. Zetty punye pre-wedding celebration. Nak buat party tak smpat, timing kureng sesuwai, hati pun tak tenang....After wedding la buat celebration lagi.

Anyway, oklah, punting event will story later. Ngantuks suda...plus nk buat presentation for next monday..Later...

On Thursday evening, "the girls" tried out a new place for dinner. Plannyer nak minum2 je..tibe2 we decided to go straight for dinner. Weather was nice, it was worth to mingle around town. Plus, I finished my labwork early (aka malas nak stay for writing). So, me and K.Ina berjumpa at our 'tempat biasa' and waited for K.Zetty and K.Lin by the river (they went to magdalene college for next term's accommodation ballot)..Romantik gitu..so many people chilling out there with beers in their hands..Happening!

Anyway, review for Anatolia? It's a turkish restaurant..Kureng sedapp..
